Second Chance

Their words held me back years ago,
Their words try to convince me now,
But the memories of this place are
Filled with Pain
Filled with Fear
Filled with Regret
I vowed not to endure again.
Everything threatens to trap me here.
And I don't deserve a second chance.
But my spirit beckoned me
To a distant place
Where I found a missing part of myself.
He wants me to live.
His words set me free each day,
His words call to me gently,
And new memories are forming
Filled with Happiness
Filled with Promises
Filled with Love
We vowed to protect forever.
Everything leads to freedom there.
And I have been given a second chance
To fix my mistakes
And not take Love for granted.
